Tech Crunch VS Pay Per Post the Most evil person in the room and his bleeding nipples

Lately Ive been doing digging in the trenches, You know so I can bring you, my readers some other great ways to make money blogging.
And like the Blog junkie that I am I figured there had to be some dirt or at the very least hype being created about pay per post out there in the blog-o-sphere.
So I did a little searching and came across JimKukrals Blog. He has a post and you tube video about Payper post, calling Ted Murphy the founder and Ceo of payperpost an evil fucking marketing genius

You’ll get the gist of the video after seeing it. But it is interesting just how arrogant some bloggers are.
If I am not mistaken this is the post from tech crunch That Ted Murphy was so pissed about.
Ted Murphy, CEO of advertising firm Mindcomet, has launched a new service called PayPerPost.com. You guessed it, it’s a marketplace for companies to connect with bloggers who are willing to blog about a product - for a price. The companies can set guidelines for their requests such as whether a picture must be included and whether they will only pay for positive blog coverage. There does not appear to be any requirement that the payment for coverage be disclosed. There is a requirement that PayPerPost.com must approve your post before you are paid. Wow.
TechCrunch does not accept payment for posts.
Needless to say that blog post generated quite the buzz, NOW who is getting paid to post? Ok that being said. Is this a bad business model and is it right for you? Here’s what I think and as you know I am always right
Maybe TechCrunch doesn’t pay people to post. Like thats a bad thing to do. Hell magazines are full of glowing ads about their products, so why shouldn’t you do that very same thing? SO if you are advertising or selling ads on your blog, then by default you are being paid to post, mind you in selfish sort of way because you are the only one reaping the benefits of that blog income.
Where as on the the pay per post side they offer a service allowing you the blogger to make money blogging. Dont get me wrong selling ad space is a perfect model for bloggers and yes you should be selling ad space, hint hint. But blowing chunks on a guy because he is trying to help you make money blogging by allowing you to blog about the things you love is pretty crass. But in the blogsphere any thing goes and bad press brings in great traffic and we all know what great traffic equates to don’t we?…. MONEY.
So a further look around about what other are saying on the topic of Payperpost brought me to this blog posting Ted Murphy is not a marketing genius, A little opinionated maybe, but she does offer up some good points. “appealing to lowest common denominator and promising fast cash”

But going back to my main point, Ted Murphy is not a marketing genius. Being a PR whore with a camera crew and master baiting A listers does not a marketing genius make. Instead, Murphy understands that for the crowd his platform appeals to, any coverage (especially underdog us-against-the-world type psychological coverage) is good coverage. It doesn’t take a genius to figure that out… it’s basic human sociology.
If Murphy were a genius, he would have figured out how to bridge the gap between monetization and responsibility. Instead, he came out of the gates firing with a platform that didn’t require disclosure, appealed to the lowest common denominator and promised big money to amateurs (which is rarely the case).
